Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
