Actor Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Position After Narrating Contentious Coronavirus Film

The "Taken" star has provided his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of immunizations and commends one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. He took to social media praising Neeson's role in the documentary.

A Firm Denial

The team of Neeson have provided a comment pushing back against implications that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.

"Everyone can recognize that misconduct might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the statement explains. "He never has been, and remains not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the UN children's agency reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the performer was not involved in crafting the documentary's editorial content and that concerns about its content should be directed to the producers.

Key Themes Within the Feature

As presented, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several controversial statements:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "research has become highly politicized."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Recent Debates

The film also references a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Recently, the political figure directed the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This claim is echoed in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the World Health Organisation reiterating no evidence has been found.

An Earlier Position of Support

Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has formerly expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," stating that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
